About Ray Estolano
Ray Estolano is a Spanish speaking trial attorney with 20 years of experience. He has been a prosecutor and now represents clients in immigration, family law and criminal defense cases.
Work Experience
Ray has worked for two District Attorney’s Offices. For the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, he handled complex interstate child support litigation. For the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office, he was a deputy district attorney who prosecuted some of the most serious felony offenses in the county. Ray also is proud to share his knowledge as an adjunct professor at Southwestern Community College in Chula Vista.
Courtroom Style
Ray’s courtroom style has always been amiable, but aggressive. One defense attorney nicknamed him the “Smiling Assassin” because of his unflappable demeanor as a prosecutor. To Ray, courtroom presentation is always about persuading your audience that your client is right. Where other attorneys might scream or yell, Ray focuses on persuading the judge or jury at their level.
As a Private Attorney
Ray Estolano went into private practice in 2005 and has since represented clients in family law, criminal defense and immigration cases. Estolano Law has had success in each of these three areas. We are client based. Our philosophy is to settle when it’s in the client’s best interest, but we have successfully litigated long and complex trials in each area and Ray Estolano is recognized for his legal excellence.
Recognition as an Attorney
He has been voted best attorney by the readers of the Chula Vista Star News on multiple occasions. Perhaps, the finest compliment was paid to him by a former adversary (a prosecutor) who later hired him to handle his own divorce. He commented that it was about time that he had Ray Estolano on his side!

Some Personal Details
The picture that you see above is accurate. Ray lost about 134 pounds through Kaiser’s positive choice program (basically a shake meal replacement program.) He now uses cycling and a better diet to try to stay close to his college weight, but credits the positive choice staff with saving his life! Weight loss is a continual battle.
